St Paul claims that God raises up, by the gracious working of the Holy Spirit, teachers for the Church. One of God's gifts to the Church in the 20th century was John Stott.
I heard him preach a few times and read his books. His ministry was a demonstration of the power of the gospel and the essential vitality of God's revelation in Scripture centered in Christ's life, cross, resurrection, ascension, and promised return.
He lived well, died well, and now lives better. I am deeply grateful for the impact he had on my mind, heart, and faith.
